Nutty treats

When the chocolate cravings kick in these are a nutrient dense healthy snack. Have them ready to have with you on the go


  • 100g mixed nuts
  • 100g mixed seeds
  • 6-8 pitted dates 2-3 pitted figs
  • 5 apricots
  • Handful of gogi berries or cranberries
  • 2 tbps coconut oil
  • 1-2 tbps cacao powder
  • 2 tbls desiccated coconut + (extra for rolling)
  • 1 tsp. nut butter (optional)


Blitz nuts and seeds in blender and pour into a bowl. Do the same for the dried fruits.

Add the rest of the ingredients. Get your hands dirty and mix the ingredients together with your hands until the are combined.

Take a small amount in your hands and roll into a ball

On a separate plate have some desiccated coconut and roll the ball in it. Place on a separate plate.

Continue to do this until all the mixture is used up and place them in the fridge to set.

This is a really lovely “treat” for when sugar cravings kick in. They are calorie dense so make sure to limit intake and be mindful of what you are eating. They are however a great source of good fats, protein, carbohydrate as well as fibre. They are packed with vitamins C, B and E, Zinc, magnesium and manganese, all very important for good nervous, immune and digestive system.
